About

Founded by Dr Maddi Popoola.

I have been working in various roles within education since 2004, including mainstream primary, secondary and alternative provision settings. This has given me extensive experience of working as part of and leading pastoral teams in education settings, developing an in depth understanding of school systems, processes and working with a diverse range of professionals and students. This has included working closely with senior leadership teams and in a multi-agency capacity with the wider professional networks around a school.

I have led on projects within education to support and embed whole school mental health and wellbeing, including delivering training and supporting staff and students on an individual and group basis. I have also had extensive experience of working with children and young people in a therapeutic way, using a range of therapeutic and evidence-based approaches such as EMDR, CBT and Narrative Therapy.

I qualified as an Educational Psychologist (EP) in 2018. I worked in Derby City and Nottingham City since graduating the Doctoral Programme and as well as carrying out the vast range of duties typical to the role of an EP and have been involved in local and national projects, such as the 'Pupil Views' research, national piloting of the ATTEND program for non-attenders and the Wellbeing Return to Education Project. I am proud to be the co-founder of a local mental health support website; www.NottaAlone.org.uk provides users with resources and referral pathways for help and support from both local and national mental health support services. I am currently working a service manager for the Mental Health Support Team in Nottingham City.

What we believe

We help everyone learn, work and belong. That's the whole thing.

  1. 1

Belonging isn't a wellbeing initiative. It's the precondition for everything else.

  2. 2

    Children's voices aren't a consultation exercise. They're data.

  3. 3

Adults can't create for children what they don't experience themselves.

  4. 4

Complexity is real. Confusing language about it is optional.

  5. 5

The best solution is usually already in the building, waiting to be heard.
